TENNIS SUCCESSFUL WITH COUNCIL SUBMISSION....

(see article at http://starnewsgroup.com.au/story/91222)

The Tennis Club have successfully put their case for funding to refurbish the surfaces on Courts 7, 8 & 9 to Council Administrators and have been informed the resurfacing will go ahead this year...

With the work on Courts 1, 2 & 3 now virtually completed - and an excellent result for the Club - that will now mean all Courts will be in A1 condition.   A great achievement for the Tennis Committee and one which may now ensue the use of the facilitiy for a Vic Tennis Junior event latest this year - a first for this region.

Well done to all who participated in the submission and attended before Brimbank Council - and our thanks to Brimbank Council for their consideration and support.

Taylors Lakes Football Club celebrated Craig's 300th game (see below)  on 22 May by emphatically beating close rivals Sydenham-Hillside in the 1sts, 2nds and 3rds, which means the 1sts and 2nds remain unbeaten after 6 games, with the 3rds winning 3 out of the six.  1sts and 2nds are now top of the ladder and 3rds sitting one game out of the four.  GREAT WORK...

craig_and_brothers_small.jpg

Craig was part of the first team for Taylors Lakes to field a side in 1990 (Under 10’s) when I was 8 years old, he was also part of the first (and only) Under 16 team to win a Premiership in 1997.  A member of the 2008 Reserve Premiership side (first and only open age team to win a flag),2001 and 2002 Runner up Reserve Best and Fairest. Happy to be joining my brother Adam Feeley who was the first player to play 300 games for the club.

(In the photo there is a picture of him when playing with his 2 brothers, his nickname is "FLEA" - Craig is on the right, Adam (300 games) in the middle and Matthew on the left).

" I would like to thank the following coaches who have been an inspiration and helped me achieve this milestone: Paul Rigg, Dean Tessier, Glenn Potter and Steve Burns".

Craig comes from a dedicated Taylors Lakes Club family.  Mother Wendy is a Life Member for work done across various clubs in the formative years, Father Steve is a long standing member and Treasurer of the Tennis Club.  Brother Adam is a 300+ games player for the Club and younger brother Matthew is following the family tradition.

Well done Craig.. Congratulations on a great achievement.

2010 Golfing Fixture now available on the Golf page.
